About me

Hi there, thanks for visiting my blog.

This blog started as a travel blog when I was a student who could use her spare time for such larks. Now, I find myself in my mid-20s in a steady job and living in London. While I hope I will continue to see the world, I have decided to make this blog more of a general space to express my dismay, excitement, frustration and delight at my life.

A bit about me:

I work in the wine trade and love it. I am studying for the WSET diploma, which does make me a certified wine-o.

My biggest love in life, however, is music. I have a little sister working in the music industry and I come from a family that has never known silence. I remember a French exchange describing my house as having ‘music coming out of every wall’.

I live in a flat share in SW London, where the majority of my friends live. While I probably live a rather clichéd life, I adore it – trying to make things meaningful while enjoying my 20s.

I’m living as much of an eco lifestyle as I can, I struggle with anxiety sometimes, sometimes I love how I look and sometimes I loath myself. I’d imagine there are a lot of people out there like me.

I love writing so am returning to this blog to keep that fire burning. Welcome to my world.

    Hi Emily,

I was just reading an article on Targetcareers about how you called up the university you wanted to attend when you did not get the required grades for the conditional offer. I’m afraid that the same would happen to me, so could you please tell me what you said to the university so that they let you in? I hope that’s okay.

    Thankyou,
    Eesha

      Hi Eesha,

Ah glad you found that article! I told them about my extended essay, which I did in French and various other bits about what i’d studied at sixth form. I also talked about how much i’d researched the course and uni- open days etc. If you want to chat more send me an email at emily@wheredowegoto.com – happy to answer any questions!

    Hi Emily

While looking for information on Warborough I came across your Warborough, debauchery and allotments blog.
I don’t know if you are aware of the W & S Society but we are up and running again and now have a website and are building an archive on the village. We thought your account was very amusing and it was refreshing to have someone under 70 writing about the village so we would really like to publish it on the website if you would agree to that. We see it was done in 2016 so perhaps you could write us a new one about how you feel about your home village now but that may be a step too far! Let me know what you think please?
